Scoring

When I score games, I like to keep an easy scoring system, 1-10.

-1.9: The game is unplayable, not even worth a look. There is nothing redeeming and only the worst of the worst will score this low.

-2.9: Bad, just about no one will actually enjoy the game, but it's at least playable. Perhaps worth it if the game drops to the price of a dollar.

-3.9: Not good, lots of issues, perhaps some personal that can be overlooked but there are still many faults. Not worth full price, wait for a sale. Generally not very good but some people might enjoy it.

-4.9: Below average, it's not a total mess but it probably was at one point. Games with unplayable releases and patches down the road will often score this. When you buy a chair, you expect it to hold your weight, not have someone ship your better parts a week after it breaking.

-5.9: Average, it does its job and nothing more. Often games where you'll have fun for a day or two then never look back will score in this range. Many games that I find to not be worth their price will fit int this spot.

-6.9: Just a cut above the rest, games where they do something new but don't do it well will score in this range. Usually they attempt to be great but end up failing, still have some fun to them though.

-7.9: Good, it will keep you busy for a while if you try it. Usually there will be some replayability and quite often the game will be at least moderately enjoyable.

-8.9: Great, if a game scores here it is near perfect, and if you're interested you should definitely pick it up. Games that are a cut above will earn this score.

-10: Perfect or very close to it. Games in this range should at least be tried by everyone once. These will offer you the most bang for your buck and have earned this prized score.
